Stevenson Whitcomb Fletcher (1875-1971) was a professor and university administrator in the field of agriculture. Fletcher was born in Littletown, Massachusetts, and graduated in 1896 from Massachusetts Agricultural College (now the University of Massachusetts.) He went on to receive his master's degree and doctorate from Cornell University in 1898 and 1900, respectively. Fletcher served as professor of horticulture at Washington State College from 1900-1902, and then at West Virginia University...

The Friends Charitable Fuel Association was organized in 1835 by "The Association of Friends for the Relief of the Suffering Poor." Its purpose was to partially or completely pay winter fuel costs for low-income families. Incorporated in 1869, name changed to Friends Charity Fuel Association (FCFA). For 150 years FCFA provided coal and oil, and later gas, to families in the Philadelphia area, until it merged with the Fiduciary Corporation of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting in 1982. From ...
